The Ecocycle Electric Bike
For urban travel and country lanes, the Ecocycle electric bike will get you around with ease and minimal time at the fuel pump.
Ecocycle electric folding bikes work like ordinary pedal bikes yet have the added advantage of ‘state of the art’ rechargeable lithium battery & electric motor which cuts in when you flake out.
Features
- A torque sensitive crank that applies degrees of electric motor assistance depending on how much puff you're putting into it
- Folding functionality! A fully folding alloy frame for lightweight versatility
- 6 speed gears and the very latest single thumb shift gear changer
- Charge indicator – located on the handlebars
- Lithium Battery – more km & high energy density!
How it works...
The electric motor on the Ecocycle kicks in once you start pedalling or by pressing the thumb lever. As long as you’re pedalling, the motor propels you to 25kmph.
The Ecocycle detects the torque or pressure you are expending on the pedals and adds more power as the pressure increases. There’s a minimum range of 45 km if you don’t pedal at all. The more you pedal, the longer the distance you have between charges. Charge time is around 4-6 hours.
You can expect to climb hills with ease - the effect is nothing short of miraculous!

Get to work the Eco-friendly way!
The Ecocycle is a perfect alternative for getting to work in half the time and with the powered motor you can travel around without the expected effort normally associated with cycling.
Avoid the traffic congestion at peak travelling times. An electric bike can maintain a higher average speed than a bicycle but take advantage of the same network of cycle facilities, giving access to routes that cars and motorcycles cannot reach. The result is often a faster door-to-door journey time than any other mode while eliminating hills and headwinds!
Testimonial
Since using the Ecocycle, I am now cycling to work a lot more, as well as down to the local shops on weekends and am feeling much better for it. The electric assistance, while helpful, does not eliminate the need for work on the rider's part so I am getting a bit fitter without over-exerting myself.

The Ecocyle & the Environment
If you are looking for a clean and environmentally responsible way to get around, look no further than the Ecocycle!
The amount of energy used by the Ecocycle is very small compared to a moped, motorcycle or car. The only consumables are the batteries, and these can be recycled when life-expired. As for energy use, electric bikes typically consume fuel at an average rate of 100 to 150 watts of electrical energy, against 15,000 or so for a car.
In terms of fuel consumption, the Ecocycle achieves about 280 - 700 km/litre. No other commercially available vehicle can match figures of this kind - plus the Ecocycle produces zero emissions!
Or, think of a 100 watt electric light bulb burning for an evening - that's enough energy to propel an electrically-assisted bike for 20 to 40 miles...
Personal Fitness
Surely a conventional bike will keep you fitter? That depends how much you use it...
Because riding an electric bike is a great deal more enjoyable in hilly country, into strong winds, or when carrying heavy loads, users tend to make better use of them. The motor provides up to half the effort, but more regular use means more exercise for the rider.
Research has found that 46% of conventional bikes are used only once or twice a week, with a further 30% being used once a fortnight or even less. By contrast, a recent survey of electric bicycle owners reveals that a third ride their bike at least once a day and 81% use the bike at least once a week. The figures confirm our experience that an electric bike typically gets used at least twice as often as the conventional bicycle.
A lot of people want to get fit but can’t cycle or run for long periods of time. The Ecocycle provides the stepping stone sometimes needed to get you back on the road to fitness. With the Ecocycle, the motor can be switched on or switched off giving you the option of doing the work yourself. This way, you don’t have to worry about cycling too far and being too tired to get back. Simply cycle until your tired, switch on the motor and the cycle back acts as a warm down.
For the Physically Impaired
A lot of people like cycling just to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. But as we get older, the effort required becomes too great, particularly up steep hills. For recipients of hip replacements, the physical effort of cycling can be just too much. Having the electric motor to help is a great benefit and takes the pressure off the joints. Using the bikes for rehabilitation is great as it provides light exercise that is good for toning and rebuilding muscles without causing too much stress on the joints.
The Ecocycle opens up a new opportunity for recreation for those who don’t have as much of a spring in their step as they used to. They provide light exercise that is good for the heart without being too strenuous!
The Ecocycle effectively flattens hills, increasing your average speed and eliminating the 'groan' factor when a gradient comes into view.
